Paragon Disk Wiper will securely erase ALL data from your hard drive with no chance of any recovery of files from it. What is deleted stays deleted and unrecoverable. I have used it and it works very well. Takes a long time depending on your system.
First I would get a good file eraser program. A good one is called Eraser and you can get it for free from freewarefiles.com. An eraser all your personnel files. That away no one can recover any of your personnel information. If your computer came with the software to rebuild your hard drive. Then you can reinstall all of the programs that came with it. An it will be like new again.
you could reformat the loptop using the OS cd the store gave you with.
-insert your bootable OS cd in the cd drive.
*if it is a bootable disk it should go to a blue screen that has instructions.
-follow the instructions provided in the setup.
*since its a loptop, im sure it had a cd containing all the loptop’s drivers for it to run properly.
-install the drivers.
-then youre good to go.
U can just format the drive n go for a clean install…
u need the restore disco or bootable windows cd to do so…
🙂
On the first startup screen, look around and find System Recovery or something like that. It should have a function key next to it. (F1, F2, F8, F12) Press that "F" key and go through the reformatting process.
reformate it
i could go into details but im to lazy to right now
If your computer came with a Recovery Particion on the HD or came with Recovery Disks or OS System Restore Discs. You’re In Luck, Just read your Manufacturer’s Instructions.
Easiest way is to reinstall with the original recover CD.
do a system restore. If you bought it from the store with programs and operating system on it, you should have a disk that has an image of the system as it was when you bought it. Put it in the computer and boot. Follow the instructions and it should be pretty simple to put it back to the state it was when you bought it.
You need to reformat it using a WIndows XP cd. Make sure you partition the drive.
depends on the computer.
Who manufactured?
When?
Are there any reload discs that came with it?
Is there a reload partition instead?
The only way you could set it back to "factory" settings is if you have the actual operating system or recovery disks. Even if your computer uses a partitioned space for system recovery, it’ll recover to the last save point, not necessarily factory, so it may still have contents on there you don’t want to sell it with. Otherwise, you can use a utility like File Shredder to permanently remove files you don’t want to sell with your system; it makes them virtually unrecoverable:
