   Oh my God, I had the same problem with my computer. I accidentally clicked on the pop-up, and it installed the vondo virus. It was right after I read an article called "The Antispyware conspiracy. I tried a bunch of stuff and in the end I had to reformat.

   Winfixer is caused by the Vundo trojan, of which there are many variants. For removal you will need the VundoFix removal too available (scroll down to "Vundo/WinFixer/Virtumonde) here:

   NOOOOOOOOOOO!! DON’T DO IT!!!

   I kept getting that stupid popup and kept clicking No. But if you don’t READ THE LITTLE BOX CAREFULLY when it pops up after you click X, you could get nailed… cuz it says, "Click OK to download and install while you continue browing the Internet." I warned my kids, but didn’t have a chance to warn my husband… and he must have clicked it while playing around online 6 days ago.

   After he’d been online for an hour or so, the system suddenly, WITHOUT warning, started shutting down and saying it was reformatting Windows. There was NOTHING we could do to stop it. It took about 30 minutes, and the system finally came back up – like an almost clean slate. Windows had been "fixed" – reinstalled. ALL my registries, License keys, settings, gone. All my previously deleted unwanted windows programs, back. EVERYTHING from My Documents – gone, wiped out, starting from scratch! I lost ALL my digital camera pics, poof – irreplacable pics of my kids! And almost 4,000 mp3 files I paid for and DL-ed, or copied off my huge CD collection, gone. Because My Documents is a Windows-based folder! Most things saved on my basic C:/ drive survived, but needed reinstalled and lost keys retrieved. I’m still cleaning up the mess, and have hundreds of CD’s in piles around me right now. 🙁
