Very much at my wits end here. This noise is driving me bonkers.
I have restarted, closed every program, run virus checks, trojan checks, malware, spyware checks, cleaned my registry, restarted, haven’t added any new hardware or software and I still cannot figure out where this noise is coming from. If the speakers are off, simple – no noise. The time in between the sound varies, sometimes it’s 2 seconds and other times it can be 10 minutes. It sounds like a CHING, cash register or photo snap noise. Happens even when I have nothing open and just there @ the desktop. I know I’m not back doored so nobody has my webcam open and is snapping photos or anything like that. Anybody have any clue as to what this annoying god awful noise is? I can’t listen to anything (videos, music, etc) because the noise adds itself right in there just to bug the crap out of me! There is no noise @ startup, & yahoo, aim or any other messenger is not open and the noise still goes on. HELP!
No screensaver running and it does it all the time no matter what is open or closed, program wise. i have run every anti spyware program out there well …almost and i have no clue where this noise comes from. Was hoping someone else had this happen and could give me an answer.

This happens all the time!!! it drives me crazy, i got a corrupted hal.dll at first and just fixed that, not it restart when windows just finish loading. Repair windows option is not available, is there a way to force it? I tried running windows xp in safe mode and install xp, but it keeps telling my key is not correct. So i tried Vista, but i didnt have a key, so i just choose the no key option which i need to activate in 30days or it wont work anymore. But it says cannot upgrade in safe mode! Is there any way to bypass this, i read around alot n there was ways to swap mobo through microsoft software, but mine is dead. I have no clue!!! Please HELP. THX!!
I know y it doesn’t work, but does anyone know how to fix it? Where is the drivers and stuff located thats causing this? Is it possible to install the same XP on a different hdd on teh same comp, then just swaping the drivers/files to the old hdd? but then were is the file.
Its from a amd processor to a amd processor amd to my p4 intel works. o.O
I dont like vista also, but even that dont work so idk. There are alot of games and programs there too so thats something that i dont think slave would work in. but thx
My old 200 GB is a slave and my 40GB is on master, BUT i can run my preinstalled GAMES or PROGS… which is most of my disk space.

Hi. I was wondering if someone could help me or give me a clue about the error I receive.
When I try to repair my installation of Windows XP Professional, it goes up to the step called "Installing Windows". After that, it shows me the following error:
"Hardware Installation
The software you are installing for this hardware:
ASUS Virtual Video Capture Device Driver
has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.
Do you want to continue installing the software for this hardware?"
No matter what I choose, the computer will either restart or ask me for a disk labeled ‘NVIDIA Network Bus Installation Disk #1′, which I dont have.
When I first installed Windows, I didn’t have this problem.
Thank you.
I do have the original drivers that came with it, but when I put in the CD it just restarts. The original drivers are not labeled as XP asks.
