Everyone advises me not to mess with the registry on my windows xp home edition. I figure I should do something as it slows my computer over and over.

My computer is horribly slow and i was suggested to wipe my computer. I need to know how to do this and i need to know how to back up files and programs. I have Windows XP Home.

I have a laptop with windows xp professional. for some reason my password is not working so i am unable to log in. i use a recovery password program but it didn’t work. now i can’t log in into my computer even if i am a guest. i use to able too. so i was wondering can i do a clean or reinstall my computer with windows xp home edition cd.? if so how can I?

I'm currently using windows xp home edition. I've been using it for quite some time and now it's getting quite slow especially when startup. I would like to get rid of the unecessary windows files in c:/windows but I've no idea what file to delete.

I've cleared all the junk programmes but that is still not enough. How can I optimize the performance of my PC.

just put in new Hard drives and reinstalled windows xp home. in stalled all the drivers that came with my dell and i am online with my cable modem, but everything seems much slower?any thoughts on why this might be?
is there why to check and make all my setting and drivers are correct?
