I am in the process of doing a clean install on our home desktop. I booted up the cpu, and I chose start from disk. It took me to Windows XP Home Edition Setup screen. It gives me three options, the first is to set up Windows XP now, and Press Enter. The second is to repair an installation, press R. The third is to quit. I obviously want the first one, and i so I press enter….but nothing happens. I checked the keyboard, and its plugged in and working. But it doesnt take me to the next screen. What can I do? Please help

My Windows XP Computer has been running very slow lately. I have run virus and spyware scans and removed all that I can. I was wondering about recovering my computer. Could I recover it using the Windows XP Home Edition disk and do a clean install or would that be a pain?? My computer didn’t come with actual recovery disks. If any drivers weren’t installed, would I still be able to start the computer up after I do the install? What drivers will I need?? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Also, could I just download all the necessary drivers from Microsoft without any disks or anything??? Thanks again.

i believe it has something to do with a driver installed? how do you fix this problem. we had it looked at and was told to run our windows software to repair it, but we are unsure how to get to repair. we are using windows xp home edition, i believe 2000 any suggestions, thanks!!

I have a valid copy of Windows XP Home edition on my computer and I bought a Windows XP Pro Upgrade. I want to reformat my computer before installing XP pro, does the upgrade disk need to see that a previous version is installed on the computer?
