Many programs install themselves to launch some stuff on Windows start-up so that they come up quicker when you start them (to keep you happy). The problem is that all these standby stuff uses up part of you cpu and memory.
Go into Preferences, Settings or Options in you programs and turn off the ‘Start on Windows Startup’ option. Most of these programs let you choose that options on installation (very easy to miss among all the installation screens). I think some of them don’t even give you a chance to turn the option off once it’s installed that way.
If you have programs that won’t let you turn off the Start on Windows Start-up option, consider uninstalling them if you use it often, like stuff you use only a few times in a year.
you can turn off some startup programs to decrease boot time in windows defender. otherwise you can close most of the user processes in the task manager (just not explorer) to make it go faster.
ive also used a program called ccleaner thats free and might help
on firefox, download adblock plus it helps a lot
more ram
You might give this a try. Though you may delete files, they aren’t really ‘deleted’ off the computer until they are overwritten and can sometimes stay for long periods of time. Go to the link below and download the program. Once it’s up, run the search. When the search is complete, click ‘Other’ and then ‘Delete’.
This should help wipe your harddrive.
Also, you can use this utility to restore something you’ve deleted.
And if this utility doesn’t help, try searching http://www.download.com... they always have good stuff!
