Im looking for good data recovery software to get some files off of a drive my computer wont see anymore?

I used to have software (I dont remember what it was) that allowed me to see a drive and recover data from it, even if the computer was not detecting the drive. I need to find that software to fix a computer ASAP. Help would be greatly appreciated

Computer stuck on Windows screen. Will not start up. How can I fix this?

Okay, so my Dell Dimension 9100 seems to be stuck at that Windows XP screen. It will NOT allow me to start in safe mode, and when I choose "start windows normally" or "last known configuration" nothing happens. I tried to start in safe mode countless times and one of those times, I got a blue screen with an error of "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" I ran the hard drive diagnostics which came back as "Fail – Return Code:7" on Drive 0 and of course I have no idea what that means. I haven’t installed any new software. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

XP blue screen of death, a regular occurence?

My computer has been randomly crashing with bsod(blue screens of death). It happens almost every day now. It tends to happen when i am browsing the net, but it can also happen when I’m not even using it or simply typing.

Here’s some of the errors it’s showed when crashing:

-irq not less or equal
-page fault in non paged area
-bad pool header

Sometimes with these errors the name of a specific file is given. Once the ‘page fault in a non paged area’ error came up and a specific filename was given – win32k.sys. I have also seen the ntfs.sys file being linked to one error.

I have also noticed that programs tend to crash a lot more when I am using them – specifically IE and Mozilla.

Are there any diagnostic tools that will help me locate the source of the error?
Is it a case of corrupted files in the system?
Is it hardware or software related?
Is it a virus?

Had this problem few months ago but I did a clean install. Now its back again. Please help me
