Hi guys,
I have a Dell computer that I have had for a couple years. It works great but I have low disk space. I have uninstalled various things and need some tips and ideas of how to clean it up. I only have 1.5 GB of free space on Local Disk. My Capacity is 28.6 GB’s.
Thank You!

Go into your settings and increase the memory. do that by clicking on My computer, then right click on hard drives, then properties, then go to the advanced tab, then under Performance click on settings, then advanced again, then under virtual memory click on change, then change the initial size to a higher number and hit set. Make the initial size a little more then half and don’t change it to the max.
First of all, here’s a good site where you can go and ask those kinds of questions and get excellent help. I bet you have Windows XP?
Go to that Forum after you register and ask away.

Secondly, you probably have a lot of junk files, videos and unused programs that are taking up a lot of space so start deleting anything you don’t need.
Thirdly, empty your recycle bin often. Also, your System Restore takes up a lot of space…find it, turn it off and then back on to set a new Restore Point and dump all the others it had stored up.
Fourthly, use your Disk Cleanup:
To open Disk Cleanup, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.
Go to disk cleanup, there you’ll see a drop down menu giving you details on the free space available. Also you can empty the recycle bin.
Youll have to make some small concessions..and get rid of the things your not using..then..defrag..and clean your harddisc [look in the Start menu..under "All Programs/Accessories/system Tools/defrag/disc cleanup..do one after the other in this order.
Go to the Control Panel on your computer, then click Add/Remove Programs and remove accordingly.
