I change the default settings to http://www.yahoo.com and every time i click the internet explorer button, the about blank page reopens as the default. I had removed some viruses and trojans earlier. Could it be because of this? Please help! I need this page to stop popping up.

Sounds like you have your home page set to a blank page. Go to internet options & delete the blank page & make sure you have yahoo.com as your home page.
