It started several months ago, my system 32 files pop up @ startup-so I ran a free scan of my registry and it shows over a thousand errors-the free downloads only fix a few of them in the trial version-I DO have a windows xp recovery disk, but I am afraid I will do more damage that good. I have tried to use the restore feature, but the only dates it will let me select are for this month only-the pc is 3 years old…I tried to toggle back a year or so, but the month on the calendar is stuck on December. (I was under the impression that restore points auto-set when new programs are added ???)
If I attempt to install flash on my secondary user accounts, I get errors saying a system 32 file can’t be found.
I have used the uninstall program from adobe and reinstalled it then ran c-cleaner, cleared cookies, I have rebooted, adjusted all user accounts to have admin. privledges, tried everything I can find online with no luck. Can someone help, please?

Without any details its pretty hard to give suggestions on fixing/repairing/cleaning your registry. I use Ccleaner also and i’ve never had it not clean up registry errors when I run the Issues portion of the program…
On the issue of your recovery CD it will most likely give you two options… a repair recovery which will attempt to repair or replace corrupted files to fix your installation, if this works you will not lose any of your files or new program installation. the other option is a destructive recovery which clears your hard drive of all files (reformats) and reinstall your system back to day one status. But you will lose and files, email, etc that are on your system that you haven’t backed up.
If you decide to do a full destructive recovery do yourself a favor first… your installation of XP may not have come with SP2 so you should download the SP2 installation file from microsoft and burn it to a cd and run it before you ever hook your computer to the internet.. not doing so will expose your computer to some nasties within minutes of logging on to the net.

The recovery disk might allow you to just repair the Windows installation, some do and some don’t. Contact your PC manufacturer and ask them.
LOL windows sucks… im about to install linus on my compuer!!!
wipe your hard-drive and start from new…. now i am not 100% sure about the recovery system for XP but i have a few methods to try…
1: just put the xp recovery disk in the disk drive and see if it will start up a program to wipe your HD
(if option 1 does not work try 2)
2: put the xp recovery disk in the disk drive then shutdown your PC wait 30 seconds and power it back up and it should start the recovery program.
(if 1 or 2 do not work try option 3)
3: open up your PC take a magnet and touch everything with the magnet
(PS: do not ever ever do option 3, unless you want to ruin your PC)
