Ok, first you need to find your drivers Cd
if you can’t then you need a thumb drive..
and need to search your computers model
Example
Google>HP Nc6400 drivers>first one
You’ll need Network, audio, video, sound, touch pad for laptops, bluetooth if your computer has it,and that’s it..
Then download then, and copy them on to the thumb drive
After you have had the drivers you need to
then to obtain a boot able copy of xp.
And then restart your computer, and then at the first or secound screen hit F10, or F1 and then go to your boot drives and set Cd,or DVD drive to be first.. sometimes its allready set.. then you need to save changes, and put the cd in and then reboot, and then Press a randome key Space is what i push:) And it’ll go to a blue screen, let it work. and then select your partion of harddrive you need to install it on.
and format it.. it shows you on the screen after the part of selecting it..
and then it’ll install it make sure to have your serial with you:)
Hope you can succesfully formatt and install XP on your computer!
The brand of computer is also important for getting accurate information. In most cases, there will be instructions in the owners manual or at the manufacturers website.
If you have the operating system disc, you simply insert the disc, check the appropriate options as they pop up on the screen, and let it alone to do it’s work. However, you will have reinstall the system drivers and programs. This will require the software discs or, you will have to go to the manufacturers website and search the drivers and utilities support for the proper drivers for your computer. There is no charge for this.
Its not actully that hard to do
heres the steps
1) BACKUP EVERYTHING YOU WANT
like files, bookmarks, names of programs
2) Check that you have backed everything up
3)Open your cd drive and power off the system
4)Put your cd into the drive
5) Power on your computer, and press f12, or the bios setup and set cd as the first bootup choice
6) Follow the promps
7) Wait for it to do its stuff( takes a while)
8) Wait for it to reboot lots of times
9) If you used a windows disk- You will need to go hunt down your drivers for your soundcard, gfx card, cd drvive etc
10) If you used a "factory restore disk" then you dont need the drivers
11) Reinstall all your programs like antivirus, backup, firewall, firefox, media player, Office, etc
12) Enjoy your computer thats faster and more snappy
