i used it to clean temp files and other files that I don’t need but a little leary using it to clean registry….how do I know it won’t delete something I might need? How safe is it to let it decide what to delete?

you will have to double click from download file or create shortcut to desktop to run. No install.
It’s safe because it will find any *junk* registry entries that useless.
But, for better Registry cleaning program. i recommend Registry Mechanic or other similar programs.
You let it analyze first and you decide what to let it wipe. It will usually list broken or orphaned links and entries to the registry, like pointing to dlls that have been uninstalled.
I use it at least once a month. Hasn’t failed me yet. Having said that, it is not a registry editor, only a cleaner. It also cleans other rubbish. (In fact, it started life as C**p Cleaner before it went all PC and changed the name to CCleaner).
I have been using it for many years and have never had a problem
so i would highly reccomend it
