I know from diagnostic software that my macbook’s hard drive has a lot of bad sectors.
It also is very slow to access any data, to the point of being effectively unusable, fails to run many applications, and uses up so much power that the battery barely gains any excess stored power, because all of the power is going to the computer. As a result of this, the battery and charger get very hot.
Is this likely to be the result of the hard drive problems, making the solution hard drive replacement, or is there likely to be another problem – and if so, what?
Thanks in advance! x

slow, yes.
heat, power, no.
Well depending on how old you macbook is, I would say it isn’t just the HDD. You may have a dead battery. As for the heat issue I suggest taking it in(unless you’re good at taking computers apart) and getting all the dust out that has accumulated over the months or years you have had it. Dust is the #1 reason for overheating.
