So I was working with ITunes and my new IPod on my Acer Ferrari 4006 when the computer hung up. I waited about an hour with no luck and shut down and restarted the computer. Now it takes about 30 minutes to start and when it gets to windows the "system" process is using 100% CPU at all times. I have ran Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal, Spybot, Adaware, and CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner with to no avail.

Also, when I start the computer, the bluetooth light on the front comes on, then turns off and doesn’t respond to any depression of the button.

I think that the problem I’m having is with the USB devices actually looping, but I dont know how to stop them. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

PLEASE NOTE: I have run all the virus/spyware/malware programs I need to… the program this is using 100% of the CPU is the SYSTEM Process (not the system idle process)…

I’m looking at a friends laptop at the moment. It crashed, won’t boot, freezes at boot up and he lost all his files. I hooked his HDD up to my pc using an ide adapter and recovered the files no problem. My question is this though, having complete access to his windows folder, is there anyway of repairing the drive by configuring the files within it? is there any software out there that might scan for the problem maybe.

Cheers

It’s definitely the drive
It’s definitely the drive because I tried it out in another machine
ok so I formatted the drive, popped it back in the laptop and went to boot from cd drive which is first in boot sequence and I’m getting the error "ntldr is missing" .What now?

I tried to look for antivirus, antispyware…etc. softwares but they are not free. Can anyone tell me a software that is free and that can clean all the viruses from my PC? Otherwise i have no choise, all I have to do will be formatting the disk.

my computer has been freezing up while shutting down. i’ve checked running programs, viruse scans, defrag, clean disk, and it has happened again. the freeze up is a hit and miss. moslty miss but does happen. starting over may be my only option unless there’s something else.
