I just deleted a Backdoor.Prorat trojan for vista, but it deleted my shell info (the startup occurs with only the documents window open and a blank screen in the background) and I need to know how I can change my shell script to login with the regular desktop. THANK YOU.

Hi. As the title says, my computer has been completely freezing just recently, and I have NFI what the problem is. I have ran alot of registry cleaners, and after fixing alot of stuff, there are no problems in those fields. But my computer still Freezes, forcing me to turn it off via holding the power button.

For the majority of times, it has frozen while I was playing WoW, or when I had a web browser open. When I turn it back on, it just sits there with a blank screen, and the power light is on. I have to hold the button and turn it off again, and then press it on again. If Im lucky, it starts up. When it does however, the light around the power button does something funny. I press it, it comes on for a second, then goes off for around 3 seconds, then it comes back on and the orange light underneath it begins to flash and it boots up. When it doesnt boot up when I hit the power button, the orange light doesnt flash at all.

Are there any other things which can cause PC’s to just freeze without warning. If so, please tell me and give me some solutions to possible problems. Any help would be appreciated

About blank comes up on my screen when I try to bring up Internet Explorer. A blank screen appears. How can I get my computer to work without that problem?

I caught a virus on my laptop(thanks to my lil brother). I have a sony vaio with 2gb memory running windows xp media edition. I cleaned the registry(have done it once before with no problems to get rid of a virus). computer starts with blank screen and takes about 30 minutes to load icons. Cant click on icons or start any programs. Do i need to reinstall the OS or is there a way to fix this?
