Hi. As the title says, my computer has been completely freezing just recently, and I have NFI what the problem is. I have ran alot of registry cleaners, and after fixing alot of stuff, there are no problems in those fields. But my computer still Freezes, forcing me to turn it off via holding the power button.
For the majority of times, it has frozen while I was playing WoW, or when I had a web browser open. When I turn it back on, it just sits there with a blank screen, and the power light is on. I have to hold the button and turn it off again, and then press it on again. If Im lucky, it starts up. When it does however, the light around the power button does something funny. I press it, it comes on for a second, then goes off for around 3 seconds, then it comes back on and the orange light underneath it begins to flash and it boots up. When it doesnt boot up when I hit the power button, the orange light doesnt flash at all.
Are there any other things which can cause PC’s to just freeze without warning. If so, please tell me and give me some solutions to possible problems. Any help would be appreciated

System freezes that interfere with powerups is mainly due to a failing power supply (PSU).
Not knowing your system specs, I can’t tell if your PSU is also underpowered (did you just add a new videocard of late, for example?). If you did, it’s also time for a new PSU (at least 500watts for modern computers using *1* latest video card is recommended. SLI and CrossfireX systems require at least 800watts, and best at 1000watts [gives upgrade room as the GPUs aren’t going down in power consumption anytime soon]).
Sidenote: too many now are claiming, "You don’t need a very big PSU" but what they don’t tell you is, by getting the smallest rated PSU you’ll be forced to get another one if you want to SLI or CrossfireX; or 2 years from now some 240watt idle beast of a videocard comes on the market, and you’ll need to upgrade. PSUs shouldn’t be upgraded every 2 years, as that’s at least $100 more to your upgrade bill. Those buying cheap PSUs are recommending this stuff, as their cheap PSUs won’t last longer than 2 years.
Always try to buy quality as the PSU is one of the most important pieces in your computer, bar none. A bad PSU will literally burn up your system in a fire, that can take down your home. With PSUs only 2 brands that have the reputation of producing high quality PSUs and have the best warranties: PC Power and Cooling and Seasonic. For day-to-day tasking a Seasonic will do (it’s 50% cheaper than PCP+C PSUs), but for gaming fiends who are putting everything but the kitchen sink in their rigs — go with the PCP+C with it’s 7 year warranty. Protect your investment, seriously.
this is basically of the bios problem. a lot of registry cleaning leads to this as you might have deleted some of registry files related to bios.
another reason is your video display driver might be out of date and is no more supporting the game resolutions so get it updated and it will clear your problem of hardware freezing.
i have three guesses
1. hardware failure
2. virus
3. BIOS error. (will usually make beeping sounds aka error codes)
