I accidentally erased my recovery partition in my D-Drive on my new laptop and I am desperate to recover that information as I recently erased some sensitive information. I was not supplied with a system restore disc when I purchased this laptop but was given the suggestion that I burn my own. So can I gain anything by restoring my registry from a previous backup?

I bought my laptop with Windows XP Media Center installed on it. I didn’t get any sort of backup software or repair discs, and I was wondering how to clean out the hard drive but still have the OS left. I pretty much want the same end product as if I were to install the operating system in a blank hard drive. Is this possible?

My laptop will not boot up and it keeps saying strings not recognized.I got the computer free and if its gonna be expensive I would like to know how much but if I can hook it up to my desktop or download software that would be better because I have no car or any body reliable to ask for a ride. It’s an HP Pavilion zt1000.

My laptop cannot connect to DSL cable connection. So,I think that maybe it because of the registry of my laptop. Can you find me the best registry cleaner that is absolutely free and I do not have to buy it

Hi, I've just got a new Acer Aspire 5672wlmi which didn't have any recovery or driver CDs. I clean installed Windows XP on a newly formatted hard drive.

For some reason, the computer can't detect the modem, sound card or wireless adapter. I've checked on the Acer website and it says this laptop has these devices. Just wondering if this is normal? Do we need to install the drivers for the computer to recognise the devices? I'm so confused…
