Can you help me fix my laptop?

Help, please! My laptop (Toshiba equium) isn’t working and I have no idea why. It has so much of my work on it and im desparate to get it up and running again, if any one can help I would be so so grateful.

It comes up with this on start up –

If I choose ‘Launch startup repair’ then it comes up
‘windows is loading files…’
then a loading screen then a window comes up saying –
‘startup repair is checking your system for problems…’
after just a couple of seconds this disappears and then a window that says
‘windows cannot repair this computer automatically’ comes up with theses options –
‘view diagnostic repair details’
‘view advanced options for system recovery and support’
‘finish’
And ‘cancel’

If I choose ‘Start windows normally’ then a load screen appears for a few seconds before it simple restarts and goes back to the ‘Windows error recovery’ screen.

Please help.
The diagnositic repair retails are miles long, to long to type out.

I do not want to lose my information, I have important work on my laptop – please help.

Ok i press on and it does exactly this: Its vista new laptop compaq presario

Black screen
takes longer than usual on the windows loader
black screen for like 15 seconds
black screen forever

RESTART PC AGAIN THIS HAPPENS

black screen

i click launch start up repair
black screen
Windows is loading files… (white bar under text)
black screen
windows loader microsoft corp
goes to a really old windows style computer with the blue background
stat up repair cannot repair the computer automatically.

iclick view advanced options for system recovery and support
i try all the things in there to help recover computer, none work. all fail, i go back and click view diagnostic and repair details

just shows basic info of my pc like 10 pages worth i click finish, comp turns off.
WTF DO I DO. its been like this like a week.

registry error when launching active x?

running windows xp and when I get to a web site requiring active x I get into an install adobe flash cycle. Reboot and still wont launch the video. Found some error messages and it mentioned registry may be at falut or something like that. Used a program called Registry Clean Fix, downloaded from web, and tried the install adobe active x flash player again. No avail. Got an idea?

Windows Failed to Start?

So this morning when I attempted to turn on my computer I was given a screen that said "Windows failed to start" something about a software or hardware change or losing power during start up. It then gives me the options of "Launch Start Up Repair" or "Start Windows Normally". Regardless of which one I choose it brings me to the loading screen and after about 3 or 4 seconds the whole things just shuts down. I haven’t recently done anything to my computer, at least not that I know of, and I have never experienced this problem before. The computer won’t even stay ON. Why did this happen and how (if I can) do I fix it?

Vista sp2 windows update help..?

,,please help..I have downloaded and installed the latest update for vista..It is called vista sp2 update..,it says,,this installation will last for an hour or more.,blah blah,after then i waited and installed the update..When i tried to boot my pc..It says ..Windows failed to start.A recent hardware or software change might cause..I have 2 choices,launch startup repair(recommended);start windows normally..I tried to choose launch startup repair and for so long..Finally its finished..But!!The problem is when i start it normally the Microsoft corporation sign and the progressbar appears so long..and ive waiting for hour but nothing happend..Please help me with dis problem..Pls thnx..
