start in safe mode go to control panel click on programs and features when the menu opens go to the left click on hidden updates then un install sp2.
The SP2 installer automatically creates a restore point that it can use for recovery before it is installed. This will ensure you can get back to square one – but you should proceed with a normal, or safe recovery, rather than attempting the ‘repair’ option. Once you get back into Windows, you can go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and bring your computer back to the point before you installed SP2.
Now, in terms of getting it installed properly, many boot-time related issues can be caused because of the order of boot drives getting mixed up. For example, I’ve had my computer hang during startup when I have my ipod connected to the PC because it sees this as a USB drive that can be used to boot the system. Try disconnecting any USB devices that would have storage, such as a camera, phone, mp3 player, or a USB harddrive that you might use for backup purposes. Then go for a reinstall of SP2. Once it’s installed, start connecting your USB devices one by one and it should install the appropriate drivers at that time without causing your boot-time headaches.
try restarting your computer again
Do you have a Original Copy of Vista.
If so Reboot the PC press F8 and do a system restore. (there will be menu item called Restore to previous state).
You should seperately download the Vista SP2 and then run it.
