Why does my computer keep freezing?

It works perfectly in safe mode and on a diagnostic start up configuration however when I put it on normal start up mode it freezes shortly after I try to open a program, I have scanned the computer multiple times for viruses but nothing has come up, I haven’t installed any hardware or software to my knowledge either.

a work computer got infected with advance xp defender, later on the computer was infected with spyguard, password proctect and advance xp fix. by that time the computer was unusable. i did a little search and malware bytes antimalware was the way to go. the virus got removed but now the computer wont start. as soon as windows explorer loads. it stops in the blue screen and halts in error 0x50. i search around and its caused by bad drivers loaded by the virus. i tried to erase those drivers in safe mode but they are locked even tried file assasin but still wont load.
i need to fix this asap a lot of accounting software and clients information in that computer.
the computer only loads in safe mode with command prompt
but if i load explorer it crashes
and reformating its not an option at this moment
can i repair windows with out reformating?
Please help

how to repair windows vista?

this morning i started up my computer and as soon as i was putting my password in it restarted it did it 2 times but the next 2 times it didn’t even get to the putting in password bit and after the 2 times it restarted it did it one more but before it did it went to windows error recovery and gave me options safe mode , safe mode with network, safe mode with comand ppromt , last know good config, and start windows normally and at the top it said (windows failed to start.a recent hardware or software change might be the cause tp fix the problem insert windows installati)on disk and restart the computer and chooser ur language and click next click repair your computer) i found the disk but it ain’t the actually windows vista disk its the computer company product recovery dvd=rom (pryon) and vista was pre installed i put the disk in and it dosent do nothing like it won’t run im trying to keep my programs on the computer any way to fix this problem or ideas or help
i already know what to do but the disk ain't running
help me plz its driving me insane i can't get the disk to run i tryed everything
