How can I repair WINDOWS Xp without reinstalling the entire operating system?????!!!!
Okay, i was doing some computer cleaning, deleting junk files, uninstalling, etc… then when i restarted my computer, my operating system, windows xp media center, the whole interface was lost. in other words, i cant see my desktop start menu, everything was reseted as if it was in safe mode and the whole GUI, graphical user interface stopped working. SO i cant copy my files or other things that i want to save before i would install the whole operating system all over again. SO BASICALLY I THINK THAT THERE IS A REGISTRY ERROR OF SOME KIND AND I CANT CLICK, COPY, CUT, ERASE, OR ANYTHING, NOT EVEN START ETC. How can i repair the system, i already tried system restore but it gives me an error that it is corrupted. I think of either using recovey console in windows when ou boot it up, BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THAT!!! PLEASE HELP !!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Computer problem after registry cleaning?

I somehow caught a virus on my laptop(thanks to my little brother) and i used the smithfraudfix(used it twice before with no probs). I cleaned the registry in safe mode and rebooted the pc in normal mode. Starts with blank blue screen and takes about thirty minutes for icons to appear on screen. cant execute any programs or click on any icons. Do I have to reinstall windows again or is there a way i can get around to make it work? I have a sony vaio vgn1nb130 with 2 gb memory running windows xp media edition.

Windows XP Clean install cannot find harddrive – help?

I installed Fedora, and now wish to uninstall Grub boot loader. The only way I can do that is with a windows XP CD and using the recovery console, I ask my friend and he lent his copy of XP. Once I get to the blue screen where it asks for options, I press recovery console, and then a screen appears stating hard drive cannot be detected… anybody knows how to fix this?

PC hardware:
Compaq Presario Notebook C306US
Operating Systems: Windows XP Media Center and Fedora Core 7
Harddrive: Seagate ST98823AS 80GB 5400RPM 2.5" Sata Laptop Hard Drive

Deminsion 5150 should i make this as a gaming computer.?

I got a old Dimension 5150 and I want to upgrade my computer and turn it to a Gaming computer. So any one out there what do you think should i or should i just buy a gaming computer. Instead of upgrade my old one. it got the space in the housing but im not to sure if its a great idea to buy all the equipment that i need to upgrade my computer and turn it to a gaming computer. Need help any one that has experiance with computers

Is there any program that can renew my Windows account?

I bought my laptop with Windows XP Media Center installed on it. I didn’t get any sort of backup software or repair discs, and I was wondering how to clean out the hard drive but still have the OS left. I pretty much want the same end product as if I were to install the operating system in a blank hard drive. Is this possible?
