I must have downloaded a bug or something, because it won’t let me run any kind of programs that clean junk. Like System Mechanics, Spybot Search and Destroy, or the Anti-Malware programs I download. Earlier today, I actually got System Mechanics to work and while it was scanning the registry it found a problem and instantly shut down and wouldn’t boot again.
Whenever I go to launch only these types of programs, I keep getting the notice that says Cannot locate the file etc etc, you may not have the appropriate permissions to run this program, something or other.
I get the fishy feeling that whatever bug or virus I’ve got knows these programs and won’t let them run. Does that sound about right to anyone else? And if so, what can I do about it?
Gaspar… the same thing happened with Hijack This just now. Ran for a few seconds the n vanished. Now I can’t open it again, even if I run as admin. WHAT’S HAPPENING?!?

Yes a definate sign that you were bit. If you are unable to go to websites, maybe you can download them to a USB flash drive from another computer and install it from there in SAFE MODE
Hello, I am Gaspar from Ask Dr.Tech support service.
I suggest to try to launch the programs for diagnostic with the Administrator rights (I assume you’re having Windows Vista or Windows 7).
1. Log in as Administrator.
2. Choose the program you want to start, right click on it and select "Run as Administrator" option.
3. This should help.
If not tryto download HiJackThis tool and check the PC for spyware, malware or other unwanted programs.
