I have two internal hard drives and am adding an external hard drive. If I primarily utilize this external drive which is enormous (1T), will it help speed up my processor? I am considering transferring all of my large files such as videos, pictures, and music on this 1T drive and using the two internal drives for ‘regular computer processing’ and small files, like word documents.

it wont speed up your processor, it’ll give you more space, for strorage, but the only way you can speed up your processor is by overclocking it, which I strongly advise against unless you know what you’re doing, and if you have a good aftermarket CPU cooler, like the thermaltake v1, or the zalman 9700. you could make your computer run faster by adding more RAM, but it won’t improve processing speed either. what I think you should do is get a new processor.
No, a third drive will offer you no improvement in the speed of your processor. A processor has a maximum speed of operation, and can’t work beyond this (technically).
Your money would be better spent on buying additional RAM which, again would not speed up your processor, but would speed up the way in which your PC handles, processes and outputs information and data.
PC’s are complicated beasts and their speed depends on several factors all coming together unfortunately.
Nope! Maybe if you replace your processor with a compatible and faster one, than what you have now, maybe it will speed up your pc more.
It only adds some space for your files, but it will not speed up your computer
Processor speed depends on how many things are being run at once, such as Web browsing, MSN, playing Video files, all these things take up RAM and processor usage.
Adding a new drive will give you storage space not speed.
There are things you can do such as Over clocking of the Processor to increase speed of your CPU. But I wouldn’t advise messing with this stuff.
Get a faster CPU if you can and have a Pro install it
