I have been running windows 7 for 3 weeks with no problems. Then a few days ago it slowed down for 5 minutes at a time to the point of almost freezing. Now it is basically not working.
I have a 1500 dollar home built pc from about 4 months ago so its not that my computer can’t handle it. I suspected it was a virus so I did a virus scan but nothing came up.
I now need to check the registry but what is the best windows7 compatible safe mode registry cleaner? I can only run safe mode as regular mode is broken.

Expect to see some Windows 7 utilities after Windows 7 is released. Automatic registry cleaners are iffy at best – and can turn your system into a doorstop easily.
Try turning off the running apps you do not need and run some malware scans.
A registry cleaner is a type of software utility designed for the Microsoft Windows operating system whose purpose is to remove redundant or unwanted items from the Windows registry. However the necessity and usefulness of registry cleaners is a controversial topic, with experts not agreeing on their benefit. The problem is further clouded by the fact that malware and scareware is often associated with utilities of this type.
