if i’m reading this right
have you recently tried to install a language pack ?
generally after doing this the windows disk is required to add additional information to your system
so a system restore may cure this
if you have replaced hardware remove and try again , it may be a game you have installed
Restart your computer in safe mode and then set your computer to restore to a previous date prior to hardware/software installation . Should work. By the way if you have explorer 8 installed , get rid and re-install 7
Good luck
First question back is: have you changed anything recently? If hardware, obviously uninstall the component and try again.
If software I would usually I would say try using safe mode to do a system restore, but you say that you have tried this option and it did not work?
If neither then there may be a hardware failure or software corruption/conflict issue which is causing the problem. Note that the message only says "…may…". This is a catch all warning message and is often in indication that the OS is damaged. If so, without the installation disk you are going to struggle to solve it, other than by buying a replacement OS.
