Windows (XP) Registry
I receive the following notice every time windows loads after
turning my pc on daily (for the past week or more).
"One of the files containing the system’s Registry data
had to be recovered by use of a log or alternative copy.
The recovery was successful."
I’ve read others who’ve had this issue before, but I’ve
never read where someone actually gave advice for how
to resolve this issue.
Does anyone have any idea how I may begin to track
down what file(s) may be causing this, perhaps a way
to review the log itself and determine what’s creating
this issue?
One side-note. I believe the problem began a few days
(therefore a few startups) after I used a program called
"Eusing Free Registry Cleaner". It’s a free version,
which finds problems in a registry and cleans it up.
I thought about using the old registry I
backed-up, but I’m afraid I may create
more problems since I’m pretty active
on my pc, and have created text files
and downloaded photos and other things
since that time. I wouldn’t want to lose any
data. I have downloaded "Registry
mechanic" also, used it once, that didn’t
clear the problem, although I didn’t really
think it would. So my question is, how to
trace the cause of the file or files
creating this issue?

Do Not use any other free registry tools, unless you are a computer expert.Since this "free registry cleaner "does not have the option of automatic backup
I’d suggest giving RegCure registry cleaner a try. I have it scheduled to run in the early part of the morning and it helps eliminate errors and helps improve speed.
backup ur files and restore the system
Almost all of these "free" versions of registry cleaners find more problems simply because they create them. And leave the user hanging. That’s what has happened here. You can do one of two things: Do a System Restore back to a day before you used the registry cleaner, which will restore the registry and all your settings back to that date. If you have downloaded anything else during this time, it will remove it. It won’t otherwise bother files, just downloaded programs.
Or you can run Microsoft’s Live OneCare Cleanup Scan, which cleans the registry and resets the Restore Points. I don’t know if it can replace missing files, but it’s worth a try before you do a system restore. OneCare is fast and easy. It does no harm to the registry or anything else. Let it download and run. Then restart your computer. If you still have the error, then do a System restore. Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and System Restore. Pick a bolded date that is at least one day before you put on the "free registry cleaner." Let it restore to that date. You can always undo this, if you change your mind later.
Once the restore is complete, restart the computer so it will save your current settings. Your problem should be solved.

Well, if you have a Registry Back up, try to restore it.
At the most, the implication will be that you might have to reinstall your programs.
Most registry cleaners are very poor, they do more harm than good. Try ccleaner.exe, it is totally reliable and efficient, but how it will deal with an already trashed registry I do not know.
I suggest using ccleaner and see what that does for you. It’s a good accurate program that helps clean things up. I’m not sure about other programs.
start>run>type in services.msc
go to network dde and under startup type set it to disable the apply
or u can go to
start>run>type in ddeshare an delete from there but the 1st method is safer
