My comp is extremely slow and often crashes my browser (safari). I have tired to upload ccleaner and windows security says there may be a harmful attachment and stops the upload ?

Especially in the registry? I’m often told CCleaner is great for cleaning out my computer, but doesn’t do anything when it comes to malware issues, I need other software for that(I use Malwarebytes, free AVG, Window’s Firewall). However, some security specialists tell me to use CCleaner, as if it has some affect on malware issues, if only on the effect of malware and possibly damage caused by malware, although anti-virus programs do virtually all of the work of protecting and removing. What’s going on?

Hi, I have windows XP and my daughter was online last night. Somehow we got anti virus 2009 on the computer. I downloaded malware bytes and Ccleaner and I ran them both. They are both coming up as no viruses, malware, etc. and registry is clean.

However, when I try to get on Internet explorer it keeps coming out with either pop ups about anti-virus 2009 or it goes right to about:blank. I have read a lot of the other questions, but I can’t seem to find anyone that has the same type of issue.

I am fairly computer knowledgable, but not really experienced about going into windows explorer and changing or deleting things, so I am hopeful that someone might give me some ideas about what I can do.

Please, real help only. Thank you very much.

are they safe to use?
i use eusing free registry cleaner and so far no problems that i have noticed anyway.

i have also the reg cleaner hat comes with ccleaner and again, so far no problems
but i have heard some say they are not safe while others say they are.

Registry Cleaners??

Do they really make much of a difference performance wise??? Should i get one like ccleaner or tune-up utilities??
I want to know because i am deciding between norton 360 2.0 and norton internet security 2008 and the only difference i care about is that the new 360 also includes a reg cleaner.

Help appreciated!!
