Ok, so I have a crappy computer with Windows XP on it and I want to wipe it clean of all files and apps and everything. Then, I want to install my Windows XP again (I have the CD with me), and then eventually install Linux Ubuntu as a dual boot but I can worry about that later. If anyone can help I will be grateful.

First format all of your hard disks drives except the one which contains Windows XP usually C:
To do that just right click on the drive icon in my computer and click format.
After that boot your computer from the CD of XP and select drive c: or whichever contains your XP files and press enter.
Then select format this drive either in NTFS or FAT32 filesystems.
Good Luck
Just boot from your windows cd and do a fresh install. Start the computer with the cd in the drive and allow it to start from the cd. you may have to set your boot devices in your bios to make your cd the first boot device.
Make sure (when you have the option) to delete the partition and then install windows.
