It used to go way faster – now it is sluggish. I think I have all this crap and stuff on it – how do I clean it of unnessesary things that are making it slower?

I installed Fedora, and now wish to uninstall Grub boot loader. The only way I can do that is with a windows XP CD and using the recovery console, I ask my friend and he lent his copy of XP. Once I get to the blue screen where it asks for options, I press recovery console, and then a screen appears stating hard drive cannot be detected… anybody knows how to fix this?

PC hardware:
Compaq Presario Notebook C306US
Operating Systems: Windows XP Media Center and Fedora Core 7
Harddrive: Seagate ST98823AS 80GB 5400RPM 2.5" Sata Laptop Hard Drive

I think my computer is running a little slower than usual, and it is making a sound like it is running really hard. How do I clean it up. I have heard that if you go onto certain websites (porn), then other programs attach themselves to your computer or something like that. Forgive me for my ignorance when it comes to these types of problems. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think virus overwrote it.. I cant open. Pop up message shows that it has been dis able by administrator.. I am administrator then.. I cant open either.. thanks
