My computer is messed up. I don’t have the system recovery CD, so does anyone know how to clean up a computer and basically restart it as when I just bought it?

my windows xp is becoming a bit sluggish, is there any offical microsoft programme to clean or tune up xp?

I know there is a way. You put in some sort of manufactures disc and you do stuff to your computer where you wipe off everything clean.

I don’t know the name of it.

I do little things. Disk Checks, get rid of old files, defragment. After doing all that the pc runs good for a few times and then slows down again. What can i do more. Get a registry cleaner, but will that improve the performance
