I have heard many people that has downloaded a virus from using limewire. But have those people had virus protection installed in their computer? Besides, I know virus protection updates don’t always come out with a solution fast enough for some new virus’.

When I bought my computer at Best Buy, they installed Norton. Now everytime I turn my computer on, it says I need to update and puts me thru heck trying to log on until I push Cancel. It says my protection has expired. I just want it off there and need to know how to get free virus protection. How can I get that off my computer?

I believe my friend has a virus on her computer. She was downloading from lime wire and the screen went blank. Wont boot into safe mode and she does not know if she has any virus protection. Assuming she does and it’s just not up to date here—if I pull the hard drive and put it into a hard drive enclosure and hook it up to my laptop to scan it if she has virus protection will it clash with my virus protection and lock up my laptop.
I need virus protection for my laptop and Im a little tight on cash so I prefer a free one.
