how can i get rid of this winfixer pop up or virus that keeps showing up?

A popup with a title of add/remove programs shows up. sometimes pornographic popups also, and it slows down my computer, sometimes making it freeze. what is this?

How do I re-install XP from a re-format with an upgrade CD?

My Dell Latitude came with XP Media Edition, and I do not have an original disc. It has slowed to a crawl, I get error messages on opening apps, and nothing helps (clean disc, virus scan, spyware scan, clean registry). My only recourse is to start anew. I have an XP upgrade CD, but I want to re-format and do a clean install.

My computer boots after repeated attempts and restarts on its own?

My computer never boots on the first attempt.If I hit the reset button numerous times then after a bit it starts.However it is still unstable and restarts on its own.What could be causing it and can it be solved by repairing windows(basically is it a software problem) or is it an hardware issue
The computer is nearly 5 years old.
I have aldready run chkdsk shows no errors

I just got a new computer with windows vista installed does anyone know how clean up the registry and defragment the disk? Im not used to windows vista ive been with windows xp for four years

I have windows XP, SP3. Need to know what would be the absolute best registry booster/cleaner. Had uniblue but didn’t know if it was the best so I uninstalled it. I’ve seen so many ads for registry cleaners that I’m no longer sure which is best, or if, in fact, I really need one. Thanks.
