I’m building a computer. I’m spending a lot of money on it. I want to know ALL protection needed to keep my computer clean and healthy.
What is the best program for the following? (Preferably NOT free)
Anti-Virus
Anti-Spyware/Malware/Adware
Disk Defragmenter
Registry Cleaner
Disk Cleanup
And if I missed any other cleaning/health program, please specify!
And I don’t necessarily mean one program for all.

Cleaning the Window’s Registry is definitely highly recommended by anyone who understands computers…
CCleaner is "okay" but it’s free… so how good can it be? It’s functionality is quite limited in my opinion…
This is what I read about this registry cleaner (ErrorFix) and what caused me not to buy it!!!

I ended up buying this one and am quite satisfied with it….

okay for anti virus I would recommend kaspersky or nod 32.
These two would have to be the best by far.
Nod and kaspersky both have full suites that cover spyware and malware problems also.
But as others have suggested I agree… Malwarebytes is very good.
For anti-spyware then look no further then spyware doctor.
For your disk defragger and registry cleaner try ashampoo winoptimiser 6.
Excellent program and also has a very handy system tweaker and very quick defragger…
It also handles disk cleanup but that’s better done manually anyhow.
I would have recommended registry mechanic also but winoptimiser is catching up with this program at a very rapid rate.
You can download a trial and see if it suites your needs.
Just google it.
Most disk cleanup programs just get rid of things like old thumbs and shortcuts etc…
Better to cleanup your disk drive yourself of old files and windows disk cleanup does a good enough job.
Hi,
I must start by saying the programs I would recommend to you are all FREE. But are also considered by people in the computer service field as some of the best to use for a Windows System.
1.Anti-Virus= Avast, It auto updates and scans incoming e-mail and browser pages for Mal ware.
2.MalwareBytes + Ad Aware = should run two for complete coverage.
3. AusLogics = Disk Defragmenter= Quality job and Fast.
4.C.Cleaner= A one stop for Disk cleanup and Registry Cleaner, Default settings are great, Just needs box checked to auto run on start up for best benefit. Unlike other Registry cleaners does not "strong arm" computer and cause Reg. errors.
ALL can be had at http://download.com/
And again they are free. Pleas remember #1 rule is Safe Surfing
Best of luck with New System.
Avira anti vir premium suite
Malware byte’s anti malware
CCleaner does the rest well enough
i use McAfee full suite, and use spybot and use advanced system care at http://www.iobit.com Once in a while i will use the ccleaner, but advanced system care does that.
You should have a Antivirus with spyware built in.
Antivirus like Avast!, AVG etc… and also remember the Malware is a type of virus NOT a spyware and windows have built in antispyware program called Windows defender.
If you change you Disk Defragmenter, Registry Cleaner, Disk Cleanup to all in one using Advance System cleaner

So basicly, you only need a Antivirus program (best with spyware built in) and Advance system cleaner
