I have an older Dell Latitude & I have been having a lot of problems with it. I have WipeDrive v5, but I’m worried if I run this I will lose Windows XP. I can’t find my Windows software either. I don’t understand how these programs work, but I’m tired of my computer running slow, having network problems, etc. I’ve upgraded the memory, and there’s more than plenty available for processes. I have to use a wireless card, which is new, and I know my router/signal is fine, because my other laptop works fine. Also, there’s 2 diagonal lines of keys on my keyboard that don’t type the letters & my mouse likes to go up to the corner of the screen & when I try to move it back down, it takes off away from me again. I need some computer advice, please! I don’t have money to take it for repairs, but I don’t want to make it any worse.

I’m looking for something safe, reliable & most importantly FREE. Talk to me about IObit, Windows Live OneCare, Registry Power Cleaner. I want something that not only will scan, but repair. What’s legit, safe & free?

Qustions about upgrading RAM?

I am wanting to add some more RAM to my computer. But I don’t know what to get. Mine is a custom built computer so I cant go by brand and model. I do however have the owners manual for my mother board.

This is the information listed;
FOXCONN 865A01 User manual. four 184-pin slots with DDR DIMM for installation of DDR 400/333/226 memory bank.

The computer that I want to add RAM to has never been hooked to the internet and has no virus or firewall software so internet diagnostic is not possible. That computer has been dedicated to at home gaming and personal projects. I want to get it upgraded and ready to hook up to internet to play WoW.

I looked inside, and I am only using two of the four slots. I remember them telling me when the system was built, it was shared RAM. But the original RAM was only 256MB and that went bad after about a year and they replaced it with 512MB RAM So that’s what I have, a total of 512MB of ram. I want to upgrade up to a Gigabyte.

Couple of questions; Can I just add a couple more memory banks? Does it matter if they are the same brand or not? Do I have to replace the ones I have and get all new when I do the upgrade. Does RAM have some kind of driver like video cards or is it some thing the computer just automatically recognizes and uses? which do I have the 400/333/226? If I can just add to what I have, what should it be?
Mother boards max RAM is 1G & my operating system is XP.

apparently my "Norton Security Online" has been cancelled by At&t. now i need to find a good security software program with virus protection and advanced firewall.
and if i do find one should i Uninstall the one that is cancelled?

Okay well my pc is having problems(details below) & i got some recomendations to do a registry clean. I have ccleaner, & i dont know if i should delete what it detects under the registry clean? Should I? Will anything bad happen to my pc? Thanks

Pc Details-
Okay, I close everything down, and then I go to Start, & click shut down, then that little window appears with the options of turn off, restart, & stand by. So I click Turn off, & once i do that, it goes to the shutting down screen-"Windows is logging off…"-like that. But then 5 second later, instead of turning off, it goes back to my desktop. Then I wait 15 more seconds & A "End Program Now" window appears with the progress bars for 1.5 seconds then dissapears. & then after all that my pc just freezes, everything is frozen, even ctrl alt dlte. Does Someone know what to Do?? Is it a registry problem? Should I try ccleaner, what?? I have to hold down the power button in the end to turn it off. So Any one???? –I Have Windows Xp Home
