Can you do a clean install of Windows 7 home premium 64 bit on a windows xp machine?

I recently recieved my upgrade copy of windows 7 from dell, and installed it on my vista machine. i was wondering if i could clean install it on a xp machine even though i already installed it on my vista machine.

I need to speed up my computer and make it run faster and clean it up free. and not just get the scan for free?

I know the scans are free, but the programs are not. I need to get my computer to run faster and clean it up with al the crap. But after you get the free scans and they say you have all these problems, they tell you now have to buy thier program. Is there something out there that is totally free beyond the free scan, that will not harm my computer

Ive been having problems with my computer and long story short, the only thing i think will solve the problem is completely erasing my entire OS and everything off my hard drive. What is the best way to do this without logging in to an account (part of the problem is not being able to log in period.) I use Windows XP.
