Im trying to do a clean install of windows XP, but the files are not being installed correctly, whats wrong?

I was having some problems with my windows OS and i decided to do a clean install and just reformat the hardrive, but now when i try to install windows again the system files are not being copied correctly and the install freezes when it hits 81%, any ideas what could be causing this issue?

My computer is running slowly lately and I want to clean it up. Are there any books or websites that will show me how to do that?

I just wiped my computer clean, installed windows xp, but I’m missing the cd that installs the drivers!?

I dont know what to do, the start menu is pretty empty, everything is weird looking, I urgently need the computer to be able to go on the internet, I dont know how to get the wireless internet installed or going. Does anyone know what I should do? Is there anyway to get the wireless internet on? Like a website that has the drivers and apps I need? Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks alot!!!!

Okay I understand that because I have defragmented my computer
Windows XP…that I may not get rid of things that need to be removed
Temp folders etc..Do I need these folders? I don’t want to remove anything I have no disk for this computer and am trying to clean up all the crap (porns)etc that have been put on this system any suggestions….PLZ don’t make me tear it up !!!

Okay ive done the disk clean-up thing, and cleaned out all i could… But i still only have 4.88g available. My computer holds about 38g. How do i remove some of the other 38g?
