How to fix my INCREDIBLY slow computer?

It all happened when I installed bitdefender antivirus on my laptop. But it didn’t scan and it was slow down my laptop so i removed it. But now the laptop doesn’t seem to be working. It can open start but can’t do anything apart from that.
my laptop has 1gb ram and a 2.2ghz cpu and this never happened when I had norton antivirus and kaspersky

How to speed up my computer?

My computer is becoming slower and slower. I need some help on how to speed up my computers boot, run and shutdown time. I am not strongly confident on trying different downloads to fix my computer but if you are 99.9% sure they will work recommend them.

I am running Windows Vista. I think that’s all you need to know to know if the programs or options are compatible.

My computer runs slow. How do i fix this? What programs should i use?

I don’t want to pay for anything, but i know there are a ton of free software out there. What can i use? My computer runs slow a lot. But other times it will work fine.
Also, there are a lot of unused and unwanted programs i have, that i think i deleted in control panel, but the icons are still on my desktop.
I have PC, windows 98 XP home edition.

What can I do,purchase or change to speed up my computer? I recently switched to Insight Broad Band?

20 meg and I feel like my computer could need a little boost to speed up as well. It is a Compaq 3300+AMD Athlon 64 processor with 512 MB PC3200 DOR SDRram memory, 250 gb/7200 rpm. I have done defrag, utilities cleaners,start-up cleaning.

Every time I open a YouTube Video or a page from MySpace My computer runs too slow. How can I fix this?

I also receive a warning from Adobe Flash Player indicating that "a script from this video is making Adobe Flash Player to run slow" and asks me to abort the script or the computer may stop running.
I uninstalled and reintalled Adobe Flash Player but it didn’t fix the problem.
It doesn’t happen with any other website or with attached videos (WAV)
