Why wont my sound device work OR repair?

So i’ve had my computer for a little over two years now, and the entire time i’ve had it (it was a handmedown) it’s sound hasn’t work. I identified the original CD used to install the sound software, but when after installing this correctly it still refuses to work. I am completely unsure how to fix it. windows tells me i have no sound device installed or functioning, but i’m at a loss as to what i should do. I’ve tried every recommended this short of buying a completely new sound device. Any help to be had?

I have to write about the importance of forgiveness. I could easily ramble on about my opinion and reasons why, but it has to be a first person narrative and that’s throwing me off. I’m not sure how to incorporate it all into a story like this. So I need some ides. 🙂 Thanks.

When I try to download a program, do a Registry Clean, this idiot program pops up and prevents me from completeing the task, considering it is no longer backed by a disc and I don’t have the disc either.

acting sporadically. It won’t load avi or wmv where before it would. Is it a conspiracy where programs are written with flaws so someone can create repair software and sell it? Is there another brand of video editor that’s reliable? Thank you………..
