some virus always corrupt my windows registry. Is there any way to restore the registry at it initial state? please help me.

After 2.5 years, my Dell XPS has become too slow. I use all of the spyware (Ewido, AdAware, and Spybot) and virus apps. (E Trust Internet Security Sutie) and have never had a virus. I use CleanUp! and WindowWasher and Registy Mechanic to no avail. I think the registry has simply gotten too huge. It is time to do a clean install of XP Pro.

so my computer was running slow so i put in the recovery disk and it made a new profile for me but the old one is still on there with the virus and now my computer runs really really slow? how do i clean off the old users with the viruses on it ?

I must have downloaded a bug or something, because it won’t let me run any kind of programs that clean junk. Like System Mechanics, Spybot Search and Destroy, or the Anti-Malware programs I download. Earlier today, I actually got System Mechanics to work and while it was scanning the registry it found a problem and instantly shut down and wouldn’t boot again.

Whenever I go to launch only these types of programs, I keep getting the notice that says Cannot locate the file etc etc, you may not have the appropriate permissions to run this program, something or other.

I get the fishy feeling that whatever bug or virus I’ve got knows these programs and won’t let them run. Does that sound about right to anyone else? And if so, what can I do about it?
Gaspar… the same thing happened with Hijack This just now. Ran for a few seconds the n vanished. Now I can’t open it again, even if I run as admin. WHAT’S HAPPENING?!?

my computer is running kinda slow….I did a virus and spyware scan but everything seems pretty ok….some1 recommended to do a disk clean up…I ran it and said 1,379,990 is the total amount of disk space you’ll gain…..so if I click ok will it make my computer a little faster?

or should I buy it some NIKES? LOL

kidding but really? will it help?
