I use Windows Vista home premium. Every time when I open the window I got the following error message
C:\Windows\system32\igfxres.dll is either not designed to run Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again or contact your system administrator or software vendor for support.
What should I do?

I have Windows Vista Home Premium. My computer has become very slow. I know this is because of my registry, because I uninstalled most of my slow programs, and my computer still isn’t running the way it should. Where can I find a high quality registry cleaner that will get deep down into my system and fix it, but won’t get deep down into my pocket and empty it. In other words, where can I find this registry cleaner for free? Also, what do you recommend?

Please no answers for free points, because I will report them. Also, do not answer with an "I don’t know" unless you have some valuable information following it.

Thank you for recommending ccleaner. Since you are the second person to recommend it, I have more of a reason to try it.

Windows failed to start . A recent hardware or software chagne might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. insert Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose you language and click next.
3. Click repair your computer

Other options
Safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
Last known good configuration
Start windows normally.

I have done the first option and it just says if the errors were fixed correctly then windows should start normally.
All the other options just load and super fast blue screen flashed and then it reloads everything.
It is a dell inspiron 6400
I am running windows vista home premium 32bit

I’m curious to know if Windows Vista (Home Premium) has a registry cleaner somewhere on it. I’ve been looking for a free one online, but all I find are Registry cleaners that claim to be free, scan my computer, then say that I must reigster them before they fix any issues with my computer.

Any help would be appreciated, either a Vista registry cleaner or one that actually IS free.

Thanks for the help = )
