Ive had my laptop for about 5 years now. I dont no exactly what type it is but the brand is toshiba and it runs windows xp. I have done every type of scan and registry clean, disk cleanup, and defragmented. is there anything else i could do to speed it up more because it is still running farely slow or do you think i should just get a new laptop?

running windows xp and when I get to a web site requiring active x I get into an install adobe flash cycle. Reboot and still wont launch the video. Found some error messages and it mentioned registry may be at falut or something like that. Used a program called Registry Clean Fix, downloaded from web, and tried the install adobe active x flash player again. No avail. Got an idea?

The question here is not whether or not I can upgrade XP to Win 7 because I know I need to backup my stuff and do a clean install etc. etc. – BUT can I install the *64-bit* Windows 7 OS even though I’m currently running the 32-bit version of Windows XP.

My processor is compatible.

Many thanks!

I’m running Windows XP on an HP Pavilion. Recently, I’ve been receiving numerous alerts that there is some kind of spyware on my computer, and to run a scan and active virus protection. However, I do not wish to do so as there is no sensitive information on my computer. The alerts are very frequent and interruptive, but I can’t figure out how to disable them.

I have Windows XP and I cleaned up my desktop and now I only have a few Icons…

I like how Mac has that cool bar on the bottom with the Icons and such and I have seen this before, bu I was wondering where I can download that bar thing with the Icons that Mac has and Use on XP
