I did a clean install of Windows XP SP3 on my laptop and then when I went to my network connections my wireless is not showing up. I checked all the drives and they are fine and then network adaptor is fine but still not seeing my wireless tried to create a new wireless network and nothing still…I am not that computer savvy so just wanted to know if anyone knew what the problem could be?
It’s a gateway laptop MX6425– my router is a belkin…I’m on my desktop but have my laptop and there is no wireless connection showing only the Network Adapter Connection shows..I already did the whole Download the drives to flash drive then to laptop and still nothing. I looked in device manager and my network adapter is fine and disabled and enabled.
All the drives are installed and fine but still nothing, no wireless connection. I do appreciate the help guys!

now what I want to know is, is there a good program out there that will scan my computer for drivers and if I don’t have a driver or a driver is not updated it will find the best or most appropriate for the hardware and update the driver or install a better version of driver? I ask because I seem to not be able to get sound playing from my speakers, and i suspect it is either no drivers are installed or outdated drivers are on my computer because I just installed Windows XP a few days ago.
Now don’t forget that I said a free program, and to me free means 100% free, like freeware programs. I do not want shareware because most of the trials/demos only scan your computer to tell you that you have a problem(and why would you need a program like this if you don’t suspect there is a problem?), but then to fix it you must then purchase the program so only suggest freeware/free programs.

Hi, I have windows XP and my daughter was online last night. Somehow we got anti virus 2009 on the computer. I downloaded malware bytes and Ccleaner and I ran them both. They are both coming up as no viruses, malware, etc. and registry is clean.

However, when I try to get on Internet explorer it keeps coming out with either pop ups about anti-virus 2009 or it goes right to about:blank. I have read a lot of the other questions, but I can’t seem to find anyone that has the same type of issue.

I am fairly computer knowledgable, but not really experienced about going into windows explorer and changing or deleting things, so I am hopeful that someone might give me some ideas about what I can do.

Please, real help only. Thank you very much.

I want to reformat my system..all data in the hard drive cleared, in short…clean install. However, my CD-ROM drive is corrupted and I can’t install Windows using a bootable CD. Fortunately, I copied the entire CD to my hard disk as back up, and now I want to reinstall Windows XP, can I copy the setup files to drive D(secondary HDD partition), run setup.exe and then choose clean install? Are the data in drive D won;t be cleared also if I choose clean install? Remember, I will install Windows XP in drive C.

im missing software for windows XP so i cannot log into windows, i cannot even use the repair option to load the Windows XP CD, i need a back up way to run the cd…cause im out of options..
