*i dont know if i have a software or a hardware problem. this is what i see…

This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP to run on your computer.

-To set up Windows XP now, Press Enter.
-To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.
-To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.

If I hit ENTER, this is what it says:

The following list shows the existing partitions and unpartitioned space on this computer.

Use the UP and DOWN ARROW keys to select an item in the list.

-To set up Windows XP on the selected item, press ENTER.
-To create a partition in the unpartitioned space, press C.
-To delete the selected partition, press D.

if I hit D to delete the partitions(?), a blue screen pops up showing this:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you’ve seen this Stop error screen, restart this computer……

etc…etc… (I’m sure you know what this screen says)

I ran a registry cleaner yesterday thinking it might speed up my pc a bit, now after restarting my pc i have no start (task bar) and can not get on the internet. The task bar is not hidden, its just not there.

I get an error when i load windows saying "the specific module cannot be found" relating to a file i have never haerd of in windows\system32 – i think it was bkxalmll.dll I am on windows XP

Any help would be really appreciated

I can connect to everything but the Internet explorer. I did a Network DIagnostics for Windows XP and I get this.

Windows cannot connect to the Internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP. This is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer.

Check the firewall settings for the HTTP port (80), HTTPS port (443), and FTP port (21).

You might need to contact your Internet service provider (ISP) or the manufacturer of your firewall software.

Help me on how to get the Internet explorer working again. Thanks

I recently deleted the permissions to my Windows XP registry, all of them except for the system one, I know it was a stupid mistake but I was following a guide to something and I went wrong there. My PC will now not allow me to do anything on it, I am on another computer right now using the Ubuntu operating system.. please help, and don’t flame.

I just wiped my computer clean, its an Insignia 400a, I reinstalled windows xp, but I dont have the second cd..for the drivers and apps. I really need to be able to connect to my wireless internet. I found the Intel 845 Lan driver on the Insignia website and installed it, but I still have no idea what else I need like somekind of software or program to detect wireless networks and connect. If anyone can help me in any way, I would really appeciate it. Thanks.
